Hurricane Ike Aftermath

My sister and her family survived the hurricane and stayed around through the weekend after it struck. By that Monday, my brother-in-law's job decided to send people out of town to work. He could either go to Baton Rouge, LA or to Waco. He chose to go to Waco. Since he was coming to Waco, my sister decided to come stay with my parents in Ovilla for a few days. So, Monday evening they arrived. My brother-in-law went to Waco Tuesday morning and worked there and in Clifton for most of the week. My sister and nephew stayed in Ovilla. So, we got to spend an extra week with them, which is always nice. We don't get to see them very often so anytime we can get together is good. We didn't do just a whole lot because our life was still going on as normal: school (me and Andrew), church, MDO for Noah, early bedtime for the boys. My brother-in-law ended up going back to Houston towards the end of the week and they got power back Wednesday night. He drove back up to Ovilla Friday for the weekend. They had already planned to come this weekend, the hurricane just made them come sooner. Friday night, my parents, my sister, brother-in-law, and the older boys (Caed and Andrew) went to the Ranger game. It was the last junior ranger game of the season. They had a good time. Chris and I had already signed up to help with Kid's Night Out at church. We took Noah with us. We had a good time. Of course, Chris and I taught recreation. I had a good time teaching the kids some of my favorite games. Saturday was supposed to be a time for my mom, sister and I to hang out together, but it did not turn out that way. I woke up with a killer headache and had it all day and all night long. We took Caed and Noah to get their haircut and then I went home. Saturday night we were all going to my grandparents for birthday supper. There are 5 of us that have a birthday in either Sept. or Oct. so we celebrate all of those together. Sunday was our normal Sunday, church, home, church, bed. My sister and her family went back home yesterday. My sister still has not started back to school. As of yesterday, there were 14 out of 22 schools that were up and running. They thought teachers may go back on Tuesday and kids on Wednesday, but when I talked to her tonight, she said no. They only got one school up and going today. So, she is getting some extra time to get her house back in order after the hurricane. This week should be a little bit slower.
